Exhibition in a Box Proposal

Nancy Berger had a fulfilling life, happy marriage, mortgage paid off, and kids off to college. When one unexpected day the unthinkable happen. She was returning home after a late night out with friends. All of the sudden she began to fell dizzy and was having a trouble getting out off the car. Her husband did not think anything from it and they both went to bed. Next morning, Nate begins to get very concerns because Nancy's symptoms were getter worst. They rush to the emergency room after long hours of waiting for results. Doctor could not determine anything, they needed to get even more exams done. In one of Nate visits to the hospital he noticed that Nancy speech was getting very slow and her hand was curling up. By that time it was determined that she was having a stroke. In the following weeks she had several stroke involving major arteries on both sides of the brain. Nate could only hope that his wife could survived, luckily Nancy did.  She had to confront her new reality which was that know was going to be in a wheelchair and to depend on others to accomplish daily tasks. Nate promise to himself that he would make everything possible to make his wife happy.
Nancy loved to travel and her husband did not hesitate or pull back knowing of all the boundaries they were going to experience. Nate depict of what all of those boundaries they where going confront. He made Nancy wishes come true and they travel all over world. In their journey, they wanted to share it and encourage others individuals with disabilities. Therefore, they created a helpful guide for other disabled people to accomplished their dreams in any part of the world.

In my proposal, is to present their story with others because I admired Nancy Berger. Her story and her story is very powerful and helpful for a wide range of people. This would open the eyes of a lot of people that think people with disabilities are surrounded by boundaries and limited to do or achieve things. Nancy strongly prove them wrong as she share her journey, struggles, and achievements. It would also encourage people with disabilities to travel and to overcome boundaries. This book offers tools to those who have a disability and wish to travel.

In my exhibition,  I will present her as an individual showing medical records and a wheelchair because that was an significant part of her life and it a good visual representation of her obstacles and reflects her persona. I will also present her journey over the world. Illustrating picture of different places visited and its statements. In contrary to the e-book, I am going presented as if was an actual “ Disabled Travel Guide to the World” book.
