Murakamis and Courbet Similarities and Differences

Courbet's project and Murakami's similarities and differences

Murakami's and Courbet are expressing what society had to overcome. Both artist are making very different statements of the society and culture in very distinct period of time .
Courbet Western style painting captures the rural and contemporary society of the 1850. This rural class struggled to get their needs meet. They were a hard-working class that depend on their hard labor to live. The painting show a realistic view of social mores. As, in his painting it demonstrates a young boy and older man breaking stone .
Which clearly states that neither of them are fit for this kind of labor. As shown in the painting the older man can barely handle the hammer and the young boy cant barely lift up the bucket. Courbet painting reflects a more direct use and understanding of realism. Which can be appreciated on the image and the use of color and tonality.
Murakami's sculpture is also portraying political and social struggles , but particularly in Japanese society.  His art represents as an index as a  abstract dark cloud rises to the sky which reflects the atomic bomb in Japan an ending product of WWII. Which lead to struggles withing society and changed their political system and views. The sculpture take a direct and clear representation of the people that experience and struggles after WWII
Murakami's art piece which was inspired by the visual culture of Japan and combines them with western contemporary art ideas. Which techinique such as magna  turn  that art work into a cartoonist approach into a “post-Japonisme” Murakami's style is cartoonist, nerdy, abstract, cute  but with a modern twist. He turns struggles that people where over passing at that time into a cartoonist form making that art piece play full, colorfull and also with a sense of imagination

What meaning do you arises from the contact?

In placing Murakami's art in Versailles it brings a new concept of popular art by making a powerful statement. Murakami's presenting his modern art piece in Versailles is a huge accompleshment. As well as, a huge achievement as the only Japanese artist at Versailles. He states a new approach of art in combining Oriental and Western art techniques and ideas and making it his own creation. By showing it in Versailles,It present a new art movement and technique to the world. It is also making his art pieces have the chance to be express differently as every viewers have their own takes, apporach on the piece or different meaning.Having his art surrounded by western art it makes it stand out from the other art work been that is very different from other art pieces present in Versailles. Having a sculpture as big as Murakami's which as strong tonality of colors such as the gold, reds, and black. It makes it a focal point and overlaps other work of art surrounding it. Almost not giving justices or presence to the other pieces of art which where produce by prestigious artist.

Real Time Movie Poster Project

This movie it is base in the futurist time period in the 2035. When in this society there are robots which have been programmed to live along side with humans. In where the humans become their owner and the robots serve as there assistant, employees and reliable source .  This robots live by and are programmed to obey three laws. When the key scientist is suspected of committing suicide. Detective Del Spooner played by (Will Smith) is called to investigate a apparent suicide. He suspects that one of the robots could potentially have killed the scientist. Bringing into question whether or not one of this robots could of broken one of his own laws, which seems impossible to do. Leading to questioning whether or not this robots have the ability to feel and have emotions the same way has human being do.
This poster reflects the futurist and technological part of the period the movie is trying to convey. Having both an image of a human being and a robots it clearly states both society the futurist and modern coming together. The text it is shown as bold, solid, structure and  having a tone of gray gives the aspect of technology. The robots are project has simple machinery with no expression in their faces.
This musical which was made in 1961 is a twist on the a romantic tragedy tale of " Romeo & Juliet" Where the New York City gangs called "Jets" and the Puerto Rican " Sharks" could not stand each other. Their anger escalates to a point where they have no respect for one another. Matters come worst when Riff a members of the "Jets' had falling in love with Maria who is the sister of one of the members of the "Sharks"  Depict the hatred between both gangs and the disapproval of their relationship .They were deeply in love and kept it a secret. The gangs wanted to battle and whom ever wins had control of the streets. Maria sends Tony in hope of stopping the battle. Unfortunately the battle did not ending up into what Maria Had up for. It actually ended up in a tragedy where she lost Tony and chartered her dream of living her life alongside the person she loved.

The poster color and tonality reflects the time of period of the movie.  Having the text color, style, texture and placing them very closed together plays a part of the gang member theme. The style of wardrobe that each character in using in the poster that is significant of a time of period and social class. The figures that are placed right next to the text. There delicate, movement and white color automatically states that is a musical. On the lower part of the poster it demonstrates both gangs in what it looks to be starting a battle. Which very representative of that period of time where there were a lot of conflicts between New yorkers and Puerto Rican living in New York City.
This movie focuses mainly about a high school student teenage girl having to deal with the struggles and joyful parts that come in adolescent life living in Beverly Hills. Learning how to deal with friends, relationships, and social struggles that a normal teenager goes through.
The poster clearly state 90's time of period just the main characters wardrobe and technological items use in the poster such as the cell phones.

T Shirt Project

This T-Shrit in particular was to make a statement. In the streets there are walking and stop sign that have a walking figure in them which are very familiar to everyone. The sign does not present society as whole those not include every type of individuals that are as valuable and part of our society. By putting a handicapp figure in them is to include every type person of our society.
It is a small application that projects a strong statement by its visual presentation.
